Cookie Policy – Slotimo

This page explains how cookies work on Slotimo, the independent review portal you're reading right now. We're not the operator – we run an information site about the brand, and this policy covers what happens on our domain, not theirs.
How this site remembers you
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a website. It helps the site recognise you on your next visit – nothing more complicated than that. We use cookies to remember your language preference, track which pages get the most visits, and keep the site running smoothly.
We set a handful of cookies ourselves, and some are placed by third-party services we've embedded – analytics scripts, for example. The ones we control directly are minimal: a session identifier so the site knows you're the same visitor across pages, and a preference cookie if you've chosen a language or dismissed a banner.
The analytics question
We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this portal – which articles get read, where visitors come from, how long they stay. That means Google sets cookies on your device when you land here, and those cookies send anonymised data back to Google's servers. We don't see your name or email address through this – just aggregate patterns like "200 people read the responsible gambling page this week".
You can opt out of Google Analytics across the web by installing their browser add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. That stops the tracking without breaking any site functionality.
Scripts we do not control
If we've embedded a YouTube video or a social-media widget, those services will set their own cookies when the element loads. We don't control what those third parties collect – they follow their own privacy policies, not ours. The trade-off for embedding a video player is that YouTube knows you visited a page where their player appeared.
We keep embedded content to a minimum, and where possible we use privacy-enhanced versions – YouTube's no-cookie mode, for instance, which delays tracking until you actually press play.
Your options
Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies. Here's where to find the controls:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies
Blocking all cookies will stop analytics tracking, but it might also stop the language selector from remembering your choice – you'd need to pick English again each visit. Strictly necessary cookies (the session identifier, mostly) keep the site usable; the optional ones are analytics and advertising, and those you can decline without losing functionality.
Most browsers also offer a "Do Not Track" setting. We respect that signal where we can, though not all third-party scripts honour it.
Revisions
We update this policy when we add or remove a service that uses cookies – a new analytics provider, a different video host, that sort of thing. The date at the bottom tells you when it was last changed. We won't email you about updates; check back here if you're curious what's shifted.
Questions about this policy? Write to [email protected] and we'll clarify what we can.
